They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

Yes, it’s true. At the time of the beginning of a year,
I would like to share with this quote so that I won’t forget the importance of my own will, action and idea.

Where to go in Thailand

There are lots of places to see in Thailand
But I really recommend to try these:)

1. Thai Massage
You can get really relaxed… and all your こり will disappear
Picture above is a massage room, where you’ll get therapy
The price is quite reasonable, around $30
@Asia Herb Association

2. Floating Boat

Traditional Thai experience
Many local people, shops and foods
you can buy goods from your boat
A boatman shows you around all the way

3. Mango Juice

Fresh, good but reasonable
THE MUST

4. New Half Show

Thailand is rare country, in which new half culture is widely accepted
You’ll be surprised how beautiful they are

Food to Eat in Thailand!

From traditional to modern, from fruits to hot foods
Thailand is full of delicious foooods!

At a restaurant in Centra Grand, we stayed at.
View from 54th floor was just great.

We ordered a course menu
Wagyu beef
A cook will come to cut meat in front of you
So delicious that I still remember how it was

Traditional Thai food at Baan Khanitha & Gallary, Silom
Good restaurant, atmosphere, foods were also awesome
You can savor Thai foods to your content

Mango sherbet at a cafe, Nest
The cafe was really cool, with good music and atmosphere
It’s at the top of a building, and has awesome night view

Mango ice at Ice Monster in Terminal 21, Sukhumvit
Ice with lots of fresh mangos with condensed milk
Healthy, not too sweet, you’d like it

Afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental Hotel
In relaxing mood, you can experience nice tea time

These foods above look great, but of course reasonable
Try visiting to Thailand, and you’ll know how great it is.

Trendy Thailand

Known as a traditional country,
Thailand was surprisingly fashionable country as well.

Exotic Thailand

2011/12/26-31

I went to Thailand with my friend, Nozomi.
I usually visit foreign countries to meet people or participate some conferences, but this trip was different. It was for holidays.
I thought it would be less interesting than those I had experienced, to be honest, since meeting new people, ideas and perspectives was always my interest.
But here in Thailand changed my view.
Every building, every structure and every culture also contained those I had asked for.

Beautiful view from floating boat
There were many local people, who were selling a variety of goods.
For me, they seemed they were enjoying their life although in social hierarchy they can’t be said they are rich.
To be honest, I wondered then if they recognize the outside world. I wondered why they can be resigned to their usual life. It seemed like local people there in show case versus curious tourists coming to see the isolated place.
I had a mixture feeling of the two: the weird one and a refreshed one thanks to the awesome view and warm breezing

Temples at Wat Pho

Budda at Damnoen Saduak
You can paste gold leaves on it!

New half show around at Siam
The rate of new half and other people is quite high, the reason of which remains mystery though.
According to a guidebook, in a high level high school, about 100 out of 2500 are new halfs, which surprised me most

Actually at a Mandarin Oriental(described below), I saw a couple of a new half and a man. He/she? looked really beautiful dressed in a wedding clothes.
Yes, they are marrying!

I found a unique Thai characteristic that allows this kind of custom, which I think is awesome

Local food restaurants around at Sukhumvit road
All the food is under $5 and they are quite good
Local people there gather at every meal and share time with their family, friends etc

Mandarin Oriental
Quite good hotel to stay, eat and relaxing time
I had morning buffet and afternoon tea there, but both of them were good and reasonable

Exotic, beautiful and fashionable stuffs in one placeThe best holidays I had EVER

As I said in the first paragraph,
this apparently shows its unique culture, tropical weather and history.
Not only that, however, but also a kind of humorous aspect I discovered

Uncountable tourists come to visit there, including me
Uncountable local people serve them to make living
Both of them are taking advantage of the country,
and it seems like they correspond to each other.
But to me, it appeared local people are mentally separated,
they focus only on living while we, tourists, see them as one of the country’s amusements
They are living in peace in their community,
which I respect most in this travel.
